The terms

These are the terms you agree to by using In Reverie Lab. They are written to be read. If anything here is unclear, email hello@inreverielab.com and we’ll answer.

What this is

In Reverie Lab is a journalling app. Thirteen journals in one account, some with guided pages that ask you questions and some with blank pages that do not. Everything you write has a date on it.

It is independently operated and you can reach us at hello@inreverielab.com. These terms are between you and us.

The free week

When you create an account you get 7 days with every journal and every guided page open to you. The week starts when the account is created.

You do not need a card for it, so there is nothing to cancel and nothing will be charged when it ends. If you decide not to subscribe, you can still read and export everything you wrote; you just cannot write new pages.

What it costs

After the free week it is £4.99 a month or £39 a year. Prices include any VAT that applies where you are. Payments are taken by Lemon Squeezy, who are the merchant of record, so your card details are theirs and never ours.

If we change the price, it will not change what you are already paying until your next renewal, and we will email you before it does.

Cancelling whenever you like

You can cancel from Settings at any time. Cancelling stops the next payment and leaves the subscription running until the end of the period you have already paid for. There is nothing to ask us for and nobody to talk to first.

After it ends, reading and exporting stay open. That does not expire.

Getting your money back

If you are in the UK or the EU you have a legal right to change your mind within 14 days of a purchase. A subscription here starts straight away, and by subscribing you ask us to start it, which means that right ends once you have used the service in that period.

Beyond that: if something is wrong, email hello@inreverielab.com within 30 days of a payment and we will refund it. We would rather refund you than have you stay somewhere you do not want to be.

What you write is yours

Your entries belong to you. We do not claim any right over them beyond what it takes to store them and show them back to you. We do not read them, we do not train anything on them, and we do not sell them or give them to anybody else.

You can export everything you have written at any time, from Settings, whether or not you are subscribed. You can delete your account from Settings too: everything in it goes a week after you ask, your subscription is cancelled straight away, and until the week is up you can sign in and keep it.

Using it properly

There is not much to this, and none of it will surprise you.

  • 01Do not use In Reverie Lab to break the law, or to store anything it is illegal to hold.
  • 02Do not try to reach anybody else’s account, or to get at the service in ways it does not offer.
  • 03Do not resell access, or share one account between people as if it were several.
  • 04Do not upload anything you do not have the right to upload.
  • 05Do not put anything here that has to be kept under rules we have not agreed to, such as somebody else’s medical or financial records.

If we have to close an account

We can suspend or close an account that is doing one of the things above. We will tell you why, and unless the law stops us we will give you a way to export what you wrote first.

You can close your own account at any time, for any reason, without telling us why.

What we do not promise

We keep the app running and backed up, and we take that seriously, but it is provided as it is. We cannot promise it will never be down, never lose anything, or suit a particular purpose you have in mind. Export anything you could not bear to lose, and keep your own copy of it.

Nothing here limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit. Otherwise, if something goes wrong and we are responsible, what we owe you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before it happened.

In Reverie Lab is a journal, not a medical service. It is not therapy and it is not advice. If you are struggling, please talk to somebody who can help.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts there can hear any dispute. If you are a consumer somewhere else, this does not take away rights you have where you live.

If these terms change

We will update the date at the top, and if the change matters we will email everyone with an account before it takes effect. Carrying on using the app after that is how you accept the new version.
